Mayurasana

(Peacock Posture)

This posture resembles to some extent the peacock and hence the name.

Method

1. Perform Hamsasana and slowly raise both the legs up and maintain balance
2. Stay in that posture comfortably. Then gradually and slowly come back to Hamsasana and then return to Vajrasana then relax.

Benefits

It stimulates the metabolic processes, which increase secretions from different organs. It is used in the treatment of constipation, diabetes, sluggishness of liver and kidneys. It helps strengthen the whole body.
