(Lotus Posture)
The legs in this posture looks like the petals of a lotus, therefore it is known as Padmasana.
Method
1. Sit in Samatala Stithi
2. Fold the left leg at the knee to keep the foot on the right thigh
3. Fold the right leg at the knee to keep the foot on the left thigh
4. Put the arms on the knees in Chinmudra, and meditate as long as possible

It gives lot of flexibility and strength to the legs and also prevents arthritis and knee joint pains. Helps in attaining concentration and mental tranquility. Also helps to over come lethargy.
